Young Researcher Awards at NLP2018

Two students who have been mentored by Okazaki (in Tohoku University) received Young Researcher Awards in the 24th annual meeting of the Association of Natural Language Processing.

Awarded papers are,

  • Masatoshi Suzuki, Koji Matsuda, Naoaki Okazaki, and Kentaro Inui. Building a question answering dataset with annotations in terms of solvability by reading comprehension. In Proc. of the 24th annual meeting of the Association of Natural Language Processing (NLP2018), C4–5, March 2018 (in Japanese).
  • Kaori Abe, Yuichiroh Matsubayashi, Naoaki Okazaki, and Kentaro Inui. Translation and analysis of multiple dialects by using Neural Networks. In Proc. of the 24th annual meeting of the Association of Natural Language Processing (NLP2018), B2–4, March 2018 (in Japanese).

Abe-san and Suzuki-kun received the awards based the research efforts during their bachelor thesis and master theses, respectively. The Young Researcher Awards are given to the first author of a paper of good quality.
